Based on lessons learned from law enforcement incidents, the term "reunification" can be limiting and potentially traumatic for family members discovering their loved one is deceased. The Office of Victims of Crime has renamed reunification centers to Information and Notification Centers (INCs), providing a broader expectation for services offered. Reunification is just one aspect of the INC's services.
